I was driving around the West Side of L.A. the other day and happen to to stumble across some random guys getting their “Parkour” on, or what I perceive to be “prop parkour”. I happen to catch a glimpse of these guys doing backflips into a pair of jeans which I thought was pretty awesome. After an extensive search on You Tube I happen to find the video in it’s entirety. Is it me our is homemade stunt videos becoming the norm and the new way to get discovered? You be the judge, lets here what ya’ll have to say about this.

HDRI was originally developed for use with purely computer-generated images. Later, methods were developed to produce a high dynamic range image from a set of photographs taken with a range of exposures. Now that everybody is considered a photographer and software programs are built for 3rd graders, it is easier to reproduce what was once a very complicated process. The term “HDR” is now popularly used to refer to the process of tone mapping together with bracketed exposures of normal digital images, giving the end result a high, often exaggerated dynamic range.

Here’s how to do it:

You need
- A camera that allows you to manually change the exposure settings, specifically the shutter times
- a tripod
- A software like photomatix or photoshop

How you do it:
Find a scene you want to shoot in HDR ( best with both bright -and- dark spots, not just bright or just dark)
- Put your camera on the tripod
- set everything to manual - Aperture, focus, shutter time, white balance, everything. And set it to a normal exposure, not too bright, not too dark
- Take one shot with normal exposure
- By changing the shutter time only (make sure not to move the camera in the process), take at least two more shots, one over-, one underexposed. Many cameras offer automatic exposure-bracketing (AEB), which will automatically take three shots as described above
- Now comes post-processing, the three pictures are combined in a way that will allow for more contrast in the image.

In standard dynamic range shots, you will usually have your focal point well exposed, but the background will usually be way too bright or way too dark. (i.e. people in front of the sky, no distinguishable faces or no distinguishable background). HDR enhances the dynamic range so that everything in the image is well exposed, and all the good parts are combined.

Contrary to popular belief, you do not need to shoot in RAW mode, jpg is just fine. RAW will naturally allow for higher quality images, as it usually maintains more detail, but it is not mandatory.

Every now and then we lurk around the interweb looking for videos that really make no sense, but still leave that impact of: “WTF did I just watch?!”. Well fam, I think we found that video on this glorious St. Patty’s Day. I have no clue where they’re going with this production, but I’m all about “White Gold”!

Watching this videos takes me back to my Korova Milk Bar days, drinking the old “Moloko Plus”. Maybe, you prefer the epic “Big Lebowski” and the infamous Jackie Treehorn scene. Whatever it is, I feel like I’m blacked out on White Russians and in some psychedelic Tenacious D music video.

I got a chance to check out this documentary the other night while I was “geeking” out on the web. I was expecting to see another shitty documentary with celebrity voices, going through the motions, revisiting the life of a late “Grunge Rock ” legend, Kirk Cobain. To my surprise I thought it was the best documentary on the topic and actually got some new info on Kurt Cobain I never knew (Woa, more to the Cobain story?!).

What made this documentary so ill was the filmmakers use of previously unheard audiotaped interviews to give you a look at Cobain’s life, from childhood to stardom, from the mouth of Kurt himself, layered over still and time-lapse photography. The conversations are informal, humorous, angry, and candid. All the right tools for something new and interesting.

Driving around L.A., I get a kick out of all the street art on high ad billboards. “Heavens”, are what they’re referred to as in graffiti slang. I can’t seem to figure out how these dare-devils get up on some of the most random places? Once, I’ve seen some detailed spray paintings underneath a freeway underpass, that got me to wondering if people can really fly?!

Stefan Rechsteiner, designed an automated robot mysteriously named “Couleur sur l’Objet”, built to assist graffiti artists’ on their ongoing quest to get up on those hard to reach places, and virgin spots that are yet to be “blasted” on.

“Couleur sur l’Objet” is in short a wall climbing printer, based on the principle of the vortex-robots that are able to climb walls with the help of suction. These robots are combined with a color application device and a controlling software that allows to print designs on large walls. - Stefan Rechsteiner

If it simply an aid for quick meaningless get ups,? Sorry, I am not a fan of “Ameture Hour”, but if it has the abilities to assist an artist on detailed “Wild Style” productions , then I say “Genius”!

I personally have not tried all of these cool little features, but anything that can help unlock a ride with a cell, has got our attention!

FIRST Emergency

The Emergency Number worldwide for Mobile is 112. If you find
yourself out of the coverage area of your mobile network and there is
an emergency, dial 112 and the mobile will search any existing network
to establish the emergency number for you, and interestingly, this
number 112 can be dialed even if the keypad is locked. Try it out.

SECOND Have you locked your keys in the car?

Does your car have remote keyless entry? This may come in handy
someday. Good reason to own a cell phone: If you lock your keys
in the car and the spare keys are at home, call someone at home on
their cell phone from your cell phone. Hold your cell phone about a
foot from your car door and have the person at your home press the
unlock button, holding it near the mobile phone on their end. Your
car will unlock. Saves someone from having to drive your keys to you.
Distance is no object. You could be hundreds of miles away, and if you
can reach someone who has the other ‘remote’ for your car, you can
unlock the doors (or the trunk).

Editor’s Note: It works fine! We tried it out and it unlocked Our car
over a cell phone!’

THIRD Hidden Battery Power

Imagine your cell battery is very low. To activate, press the
keys *3370#. Your cell phone will restart with this reserve and the
instrument will show a 50% increase in battery. This reserve will get
charged when you charge your cell phone next time.

FOURTH

How to disable a STOLEN mobile phone?

To check your Mobile phone’s serial number, key in the following
digits on your phone: *#06#. A 15-digit code will appear on the
screen. This number is unique to your handset. Write it down and keep
it somewhere safe.

When your phone get stolen, you can phone your service provider
and give them this code. They will then be able to block your handset
so even if the thief changes the SIM card, your phone will be totally
useless. You probably won’t get your phone back, but at least you know
that whoever stole it can’t use/sell it either. If everybody does
this, there would be no point in people stealing mobile phones.
